This project is an Alpine-inspired, four-storey contemporary development comprising 16 high-end luxury condominium units. The building is carefully embedded into a steep hillside with a history as a former silver mine, allowing it to take full advantage of sweeping views toward the Monashee Mountain range. The architectural approach draws from the region’s industrial, residential, and institutional vernaculars, translating these influences into a modern expression that feels both grounded and refined. Clean, simple lines define the contemporary elevations, complemented by a restrained palette of natural wood, corrugated metal decks and balconies, and vibrantly colored metal accents that add contrast and identity.
A strong mountain character is reinforced through the layering of textures, robust materials, and oversized, black-framed windows, which frame views while enhancing durability in a demanding alpine climate. The project responds thoughtfully to its challenging site conditions, addressing significant grade changes through stepped massing that reduces visual impact and integrates the building into the slope. Although the site is zoned appropriately for a 16-unit residential development, careful attention was given to scale, proportion, and articulation to avoid over-scaling within its residential context. The result is a well-considered luxury multi-family building that balances bold architectural expression with sensitivity to landscape, history, and surrounding development.
